The 5th Wave

Sammy tells Cassie that the children are waiting to be evacuated on a plane. Cassie considers sneaking onto the plane with the other children but discounts it; Evan told her about some escape pods they could use. However, she doesn’t know how to find the escape pods. Finally, she decides they must get out of the area. Cassie walks Sammy out into the corridor where they encounter a young doctor (Zombie). Sammy surprises her by running to the doctor and pulling his mask off, revealing Ben Parish. The younger explains their new names, that Ben is Zombie and he himself is Nugget. Ben tells Cassie that Vosch is the enemy, and she surprises him by saying she already knows. They decide to get Sammy out together.

Cassie and Ben quickly escort Sammy through the corridors. They pause when they’re some distance from other personnel to take the implant out of Sammy’s neck. When they begin moving again, they run into Vosch.

Vosch takes Cassie and Ben into an execution room. He shows them that Sammy has been strapped to a chair in the next room. He tells Cassie that he is going to hook her up to Wonderland and kill Ben, but he’ll spare Sammy if she reveals who helped her break into the base.
