1. A. The poem is a call to arms against death, which is represented by darkness and night, so that “good night” means “Goodbye,” not at the end of the day but at the end of life.
2. B. The poem’s refrain to “Rage, rage against the dying of the light” entreats us to fight the darkness of oblivion that comes with death.
