Misery breaks into Lowe’s room. She snoops through his things and finds skilled architectural drawings and a sketch of her face. The next day she watches a barbecue from her window, feeling lonely. She admires how Lowe interacts with his pack. She sees Max coaxing Ana into the woods. Misery chases them in spite of the sun and being barefoot. When Max doesn’t put Ana down, she starts to attack, but is instantly surrounded by Weres.

Back inside the house, Max is whining for his mother. When Lowe asks the pack what happened, Cal says that Misery spoiled the trap they were setting for Max by coming to Ana’s aid. Max won’t reveal who put him up to the kidnapping and tells Lowe that Lowe is not the rightful Alpha. When everyone steps forward to deal with Max, Misery intervenes. She can put him under a thrall and hypnotize him. When Lowe asks her why she’d help, Misery says she cares about Ana. Lowe allows Misery to use the thrall, but before Max can reveal information, Lowe asks Misery to leave the room.

Mick tells Misery that Lowe knew Max attacked her first in the corridor.
